Jamie Solomon is a New York-based dancer, choreographer, and educator.
Specializing in heels, contemporary, and commercial dance, she is passionate about using movement as a means of artistic expression and personal empowerment.
Originally from the DC area, Jamie honed her craft at the College of Charleston, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. There, she developed her versatility through faculty and student productions, refining her skills across multiple styles. She later became an active member of the DC dance community, performing with Artbysolo Dance and showcasing work at major festivals, including the Atlas Intersections Festival and NACHMO/DC.
Since relocating to New York City, Jamie has performed in The Bridge Between Hearts, a short film selected for the 2025 Ketchikan Dance Film Festival, and From the (Roof) Top with avec Productions, Inc. She continues to expand her artistic voice through concert, film, and site-specific performances, always seeking new ways to engage with audiences.
As the Founder and Artistic Director of JSolo Dance, Jamie creates spaces for dancers of all levels to refine their technique, build confidence, and explore movement with purpose. She also dedicates her time to mentoring young dancers, volunteering as an instructor at Groove With Me, a free dance school for girls in East Harlem.
Whether performing, choreographing, or teaching, Jamie is committed to fostering a culture of creativity, empowerment, and artistic exploration. Outside the studio, she enjoys discovering new creative projects, traveling, and spending time with her dog, Luna.
